COPENHAGEN: Hilton part of the recent hotel boom

Scheduled to open in 2020, Hilton Copenhagen City Centre will be an important addition to the hotel scene of the capital of Denmark. The new landmark hotel will have 400 guest rooms, including 44 suites. The facilties include a fitness centre, executive lounge and two restaurants, one of which will boast panoramic views across the Copenhagen waterfront. For corporate events and meetings, the hotel will offer more than 600 square metres of function space.

The seven-storey Hilton Copenhagen City Centre will be located on Strandgade, one of Copenhagen's most iconic streets, on the quayside of Copenhagen Harbour. The hotel is a few minutes walk from Copenhagen's famous old square Kongens Nytorv, the Old Stock Exchange, the Nyhavn waterfront and the famous pedestrian shopping street Strøget.

While looking forward to the new Hilton, the current talk of town as well as of travel and design enthusiasts worldwide, is the reopening of Radisson Blu Royal. Copenhagen's first ever skyscraper and arguably the world's first design hotel was originally opened in 1960 with bold design by the famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. The 260-room property has now been beautifully renovated with many of Jacobsen’s original modern designs reinstated.

Among recent openings is also Copenhagen’s first luxury boutique hotel Sanders, created by the renowned Danish ballet dancer Alexander Kølpin. Comprised of 54 luxurious rooms, each unique in their style and design, and a total of 5 unique spots for dining and drinks, the new property will certainly invite to linger in its quiet luxury.

Yet another new 5-starred luxury property and a member of Design Hotels is Nobis Hotel Copenhagen housed in a listed building at a prime location next to Tivoli Gardens. Listed among the very best, Nobis Hotel has 77 luxurious rooms and a gourmet restaurant Niels which has already been called a gastronomic destination in its own right.
